Emmitt Smith was born on May 15, 1969 in Pensacola, Florida. While Smith was never the largest participant on the football field he often had the center of a lion. When it came down to profitable time Smith was always there to grab the slack. This will to get was in addition to a higher amount of emotional and physical energy. After a successful senior school career Smith chose to just take his sport to the University of Florida. As soon as that foot was set by him on campus it was clear that he was going to be considered a start. While at the school he set many records; a number of which still stand today. In reality, in the 1st game that he ever started the school record was broken by Smith for rushing yards in a game.
Johnson chose to assert himself eligible for the NFL Draft after his senior season. Throughout his time at Florida he rushed for almost 4,000 yards and 36 touchdowns. His senior year was his most readily useful. It was with this year he was named first team All American, first team All SEC, SEC Player of the Year, and completed seventh for the Heisman Trophy.

In the 1990 NFL Draft, Smith was selection with the 17th pick in the first round by the Dallas Cowboys. In his first year in the league he rushed for 937 yards on 241 bears. Jones continued to put up similar figures up before 2003 season when he left the Cowboys and signed with the Arizona Cardinals.
Emmitt Smith completed most abundant in job rushing yards and touchdowns in NFL history. That is saying a whole lot considering each of the great running backs who have played in the group.
